Privacy policy

Member Made is operated by Connell Studio LLC, a Maryland limited liability company ("Member Made," "we," "us"). Effective October 30, 2026.

This policy explains what information we collect through membermadeco.com, how we use it, who helps us handle it, and how long we keep it.

Information you send us

We collect the information you choose to send through the Design Studio, the Contact Us form, and the group store inquiry form:

  • Contact details: your name, email address, phone number (optional), organization, school, and role.
  • Project details: garments, colors, decoration methods, placements, sizes, quantities, dates, fulfillment preferences such as pickup or shipping, and your messages.
  • Files: artwork, logos, reference images, and other files you upload, and the placement previews the Design Studio creates from them.

We do not collect payment card or bank details on this website.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the date and time, in server logs used to operate and secure the site. When you send a request, we keep a keyed, one-way code derived from your connection so we can limit repeated or automated submissions. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers.

Saved progress in your browser

The Design Studio saves your project in progress, including uploaded artwork, in your own browser so you can return to it. This stays on your device until you submit, choose "Start over," or clear your browser data. The catalog remembers your filters during a visit. This information is not sent to us until you submit a request.

How we use information

We use your information to review and respond to your request, prepare quotes, mockups, and proofs, produce and deliver orders you approve, provide support, keep business records, protect the website against spam and abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for targeted advertising.

Sending a request does not sign you up for marketing. We email you about your request and any order that follows. If we ever offer a newsletter or promotions, you would need to opt in separately.

Service providers

We use the following providers to run the website and our communications. They handle information on our behalf to provide their services.

  • Netlify: website hosting, the functions that receive requests, storage for requests and uploaded files, and server logs.
  • Google Workspace: our business email, where request notifications and our conversations with you are kept.
  • Resend: sends the automated request notification and confirmation emails.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: when enabled on our forms, checks that a request comes from a person. It processes information about your browser and connection to do this.
  • Fontshare (Indian Type Foundry): delivers one of the typefaces used on this website, so your browser connects to its servers and shares your IP address and browser details.

We may also use payment, shipping, and production partners for orders you approve, sharing only what each needs, such as a shipping address with a carrier. Links to Instagram, TikTok, or an organization's licensed marketplace take you to sites that follow their own privacy policies.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business.

How long we keep information

  • Unsent uploads: if you start sending a request but it is never completed, the files uploaded for it are deleted automatically after about 48 hours.
  • Inquiries that do not become orders: kept for about 90 days after our last interaction with you, then deleted, unless we need to keep them longer for a specific reason, such as an open question, a dispute, or a legal obligation.
  • Orders in progress: kept for as long as the project is active.
  • Completed orders: we aim to keep order records and files for about 2 years after completion, and longer when required by law or needed for tax, accounting, licensing, warranty, or dispute purposes.

Emails in our business inbox and copies held by our providers, including backups, may take additional time to be removed.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, signed and expiring download links for uploaded files, and limits on automated submissions. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information, such as government ID or financial account numbers, through our forms.

Your choices and requests

You can ask to access, correct, or delete the personal information you have sent us by emailing hello@membermadeco.com. We may need to confirm your identity, and we may keep information we are required to retain, such as records of completed orders and payments. Where the law of your state gives you additional privacy rights, we will honor them.

Children

This website is intended for college students, organizations, and adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date. Material changes apply to information collected after the change is posted.

Terms of service

These terms apply to your use of this website and to quotes and orders with Member Made. By sending a request or placing an order, you agree to them. A written quote, invoice, or agreement for a specific project may add terms, and those specific terms control where they differ.

Requests, quotes, and orders

Submitting a Design Studio project, a contact request, or a group store inquiry is a request, not an order. A mockup or preview is not an order either, and no payment is collected on this website.

Quotes are valid for 14 days unless the quote says otherwise, and remain subject to garment and supplier availability. If a garment, color, or size becomes unavailable, we will contact you before making any change.

Production begins only after all three of the following are complete: you approve the final artwork and proof, any required licensing approval is received, and the order is paid in full.

Previews, proofs, and product information

Design Studio previews show approximate placement only and are not production proofs. Before production we send a proof for your approval, and you are responsible for checking spelling, names, colors, sizes, and quantities on it. Garment details, colors, and sizes come from manufacturers and suppliers and may change, and colors on screen can differ from the finished product.

Payment

Orders are paid 100 percent in advance, before production begins. We do not take deposits. Payment methods are listed on your invoice.

Design work

If you ask us to create design work and you do not go ahead with an order, we may charge $50 per hour for that work. We will tell you before any billable design work begins, and it is charged only if you agree to it in advance. We may waive this fee at our discretion, and we never charge it retroactively.

Production and timing

Standard production is generally about 7 days after artwork approval, licensing approval, and payment. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date. Rush production may be available for an additional charge, confirmed in your quote.

Pickup, shipping, and delivery

Depending on the project, orders may be available for local pickup, bulk shipment to one address, or individual shipment to members. Not every option is available for every project, and the method for your order is confirmed in your quote or invoice.

If a shipment arrives damaged or appears lost, please contact us within about 7 days of discovering the problem, with your order details, photos of the items, packaging, and shipping label, and the tracking information. We will investigate, coordinate any claim with the carrier, and work with you on a resolution.

Changes and cancellations

You can cancel an order before production begins. Any refund may be reduced by design fees you authorized, materials already purchased for your order, and other costs we disclosed to you in advance. Once production begins, orders generally cannot be cancelled or refunded, except as described below for our errors or where the law requires otherwise.

Returns, defects, and errors

Custom items are made to order. Items produced correctly according to the approved proof and order are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged for a change of mind.

  • Sizing: sizes are chosen by the customer. If the sizes ordered were wrong, replacements are not free. If we produced or shipped the wrong size, we will correct it at no cost.
  • Defects and our errors: if an item has a manufacturing or decoration defect, or does not match the approved proof because of our error, contact us promptly with your order details and photos. After we verify the issue, we will correct, replace, or refund the affected items.
  • Worn or altered items: items that have been worn, washed, or altered cannot be returned, except for a legitimate defect claim. We will not reject a valid defect claim only because tags were removed.

Group stores

Group stores are set up for each organization by agreement, in one of two ways:

  • Organization paid: the organization places and pays for one bulk order, under the same quote, approval, and payment terms as any other order.
  • Member paid: individual members order and pay through a store that uses a separately configured payment processor. A fixed-price member-paid store requires either a written minimum or financial guarantee agreed with the organization before the store opens, or a disclosed minimum that must be reached before the order is produced. Any terms for covering a shortfall are agreed in writing in advance and are never added afterwards.

Production of a group store order begins only after the store closes, the artwork and any licensing are approved, and payment is complete. Each member-paid store will state its own payment, refund, and support terms before any member pays, and the responsibilities of Member Made and the organization for refunds and member support are agreed before the store opens.

Licensed collections

Licensed collections, when available, are sold through each organization's official marketplace and are subject to that marketplace's terms.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website and its content are provided as is, and Member Made is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or event costs, arising from the website or an order. Our total liability for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

Governing law and disputes

If you have a problem with an order, please contact us first at hello@membermadeco.com so we can try to resolve it. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Maryland, unless the law of your place of residence gives you a right to bring it elsewhere.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. The terms in effect when you approve a quote apply to that order.

Artwork and intellectual property

Artwork you provide

You keep ownership of the artwork, logos, and other materials you send us. By sending them, you confirm that you own them or have permission to use them for your order, and that they do not infringe anyone else's rights, including trademarks, copyrights, Greek letters, crests, school marks, and the names or likenesses of individuals. You give us permission to use these materials to review your request, prepare quotes and proofs, and produce your order. To the extent permitted by law, you agree to cover losses and reasonable costs that result from a claim that materials you provided infringe someone else's rights.

We may ask for proof of permission, and we may decline or pause any request that we believe could infringe someone else's rights.

Designs Member Made creates

Original designs, artwork, mockups, and production files created by Member Made are owned by Connell Studio LLC. When you order, you may use the finished products you receive. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, ordering does not transfer copyright, source files, or production files to you, and our designs may not be reproduced by or given to another supplier. If you would like to own or reuse a design, we can discuss a written transfer or license.

Greek letters and licensed marks

Fraternity and sorority names, letters, crests, and other marks belong to their organizations. Where an organization requires it, we follow the approval and royalty rules of its licensing program, including Affinity Consultants, and its national organization. A design that uses these marks is produced only after any required approval. Approval through a licensing program does not transfer ownership of the marks or of our designs.

Showing our work

We may show photos and images of designs and products we have made on our website, social media, and other marketing to show the kind of work we do. When we do, we follow licensing program rules for Greek and other licensed marks, respect the rights of other owners, and keep any confidentiality or contract terms we have agreed to. We do not publish personal information from your request, and we ask permission before featuring photos in which individuals can be identified.

Website content

The Member Made name, logo, website design, and the content and designs shown on this website belong to Connell Studio LLC or are used with permission, and may not be copied without our written permission.

Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to browse our apparel, use the Design Studio, and contact us. We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA as a goal and keep improving the site. Some parts, such as dragging artwork in the Design Studio editor, may be harder to use with assistive technology. In the editor, artwork can also be moved with the arrow keys and resized with a slider.

If anything on this website is difficult to use, please tell us and we will help you complete your request another way, for example by email or phone: hello@membermadeco.com or 410-220-9083, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Eastern.
